Tikka T3x vs T1x: What’s the Same, What’s Different, and Which Accessories Fit Both
Share
Tikka’s T3x and T1x share a lot more than a name. If you own one and are looking at accessories designed for the other, the short answer is: most things fit both. But there are a few differences worth knowing about before you order.
What’s different between the T3x and T1x
The core difference is the action. The T3x is a centrefire action available in calibres from .204 Ruger to .300 Win Mag and beyond. The T1x is a rimfire action chambered in .22 LR and .17 HMR. They’re fundamentally different rifles built for different purposes.
The T1x action is shorter and lighter. The bolt throw is shorter. The magazine is different. If you’re buying anything that interfaces with the action, bolt, or magazine — it needs to be specific to the model you own.
What’s the same
The stock. This is the important part for ergonomic accessories.
Tikka designed the T1x to use the same stock footprint as the T3x. The butt stock dimensions are the same. The recoil pad mounting pattern is the same. The forearm profile is the same. This was a deliberate design choice — it means T1x shooters get the same stock feel as T3x shooters, and it means the same accessories fit both platforms.
Specifically:
- Recoil pad mounting — same screw pattern, same pad dimensions. LOP spacers designed for the T3x fit the T1x.
- Stock comb profile — same width, same shape. Cheek risers designed for the T3x clamp onto the T1x identically.
- Trigger mechanism — the T1x uses the same trigger design as the T3x, including the same adjustment range and the same spring. Trigger springs are cross-compatible.
Why this matters for T1x owners
The T1x is one of the best rimfire training rifles available precisely because it mimics the feel of the T3x. Many shooters buy a T1x specifically to practise with cheap .22 ammo before heading to the range or the field with their centrefire T3x.
For that training to translate, the T1x needs to feel identical to your T3x. If your T3x has a cheek riser and LOP spacers, your T1x should too — same heights, same lengths. That way your muscle memory, cheek weld, and trigger reach are the same on both rifles.
What Nokka accessories fit both the T3x and T1x
All of them. Every Nokka product is designed for Tikka’s OEM stock platform, which is shared across the T3x and T1x:
- Drop Comb Cheek Riser — fits both T3x and T1x factory stocks
- LOP Spacer Kit — fits both T3x and T1x factory stocks
- Trigger Spring — fits both T3x and T1x trigger assemblies
- Performance Kit — the Cheek Riser + LOP Spacer bundle, compatible with both
If you’re setting up both rifles to match, the most efficient approach is two Performance Kits — one for each rifle. Set them identically and your rimfire training sessions will transfer directly to your centrefire shooting.
A note on Sako compatibility
Sako rifles (made by the same parent company as Tikka) use a different stock design. While some aftermarket accessories claim cross-compatibility, the stock dimensions are not identical. Nokka accessories are designed and tested specifically for Tikka OEM stocks. If you’re running a Sako, check the fit before committing.
